Just fresh off the stage from performing with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra alongside such luminaries as Whiromako Black, Stu Buchanan, Tom Rainey and Doug Caldwell, this jazz chanteuse seems to be going from strength to strength. Jennine performed to a sold-out audience in April with her Eva Cassidy Tribute show in the 2010 Christchurch International Jazz and Blues Festival. She released her debut album ‘You go to my head’ in 2003, and in the same year was one of the three winners in an international jazz competition voted for by over 30,000 people world-wide. A versatile performer, Jennine gave a critically acclaimed performance in her first musical as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar and has performed solos for Classical Sparks, Xmas in the Park and Starry Nights concerts. Jennine has performed many sold-out shows in Arts and Jazz festivals across the country. Her next recording project is underway and is expected to be available at the end of 2010. Jennine has just had another (darling!) baby girl and is planning to complete her BMus(Hons) at Canterbury University this year. Up-coming Events: *Jennine performs every Friday night at the Millennium Hotel in central Christchurch from 7.30-10.30pm *’Winter Duets’ with Rayna Creagh on Sat 24 July and Sat 21 August at 7.30pm at the Millennium Hotel, no cover charge *’Rogers and Hammerstein; A Tribute’ on Sat 31 July at 8pm at Christchurch Town Hall, tickets available through Ticketek *‘Eva Cassidy Tribute Show’ on 23 August at 1pm at Chch Jazz School Auditorium *The Otago Festival of the Arts in Dunedin with Tom Rainey on Sat 16 October *’Eva Cassidy Tribute Show’ in January at Woollaston Nelson Jazz & Blues Festival 2011 |
